Who We Are
Elizabeth Turner, nee` Schurman, was born and raised in Joplin, Missouri, moved to Virginia, and recently returned to the Joplin area to practice law.
Elizabeth was chosen to instruct on Criminal law, Civil Liability for Law Enforcement, Search and Seizure and other 4th Amendment issues, and Law Enforcement In-Service Training at Crater Criminal Justice Training Academy in Petersburg, VA.
With extensive experience in criminal law, Elizabeth assists clients in the Joplin and surrounding areas with DWI, traffic, felony criminal charges and any other criminal violations, in addition to Estate Planning and Family Law. Elizabeth also practices in Federal court for criminal clients and court-appointed clients facing criminal charges.
Elizabeth attended Missouri Southern State University in the Honors Program and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She attended Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, VA and has been a licensed Virginia attorney for over 5 years. Elizabeth was a prosecutor in Virginia, where she handled almost every type of criminal case, including murders, sexual assaults, weapons offenses and drug and gang crimes.
Elizabeth came back to Missouri to be closer to her family. She currently is licensed in Missouri, Virginia, and the Federal Court for the Western District of Missouri. Elizabeth is the Treasurer of the Jasper County Bar Association, a member of the Newton County Bar Association, and a member of the Southern Missouri Women Lawyers. Elizabeth is a member of the CJA Panel, where she is court-appointed to represent indigent criminal defendants in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri. Elizabeth is certified through the Veteran's Administration to handle claims through the VA for veterans and hosts several free Veteran's Clinics throughout the year.
